The Aledo Bearcats opened the 2025 season with a definitive statement, grinding out a tough 21-14 victory over the rival Denton Guyer Wildcats on Friday night. In a departure from the high-flying shootout of previous years, this contest was a defensive masterclass, showcasing the Bearcats' physicality and determination. Guyer's Late Push Falls Short Denton Guyer showed life in the second half, led by its playmakers. Running back Kaedyn Cobbs ignited the Wildcat sideline with a 36-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to make the score 14-7. In the fourth quarter, Guyer's quarterback Zephyr Kreye delivered a spectacular pass to Carter Morgan, who broke free for a 49-yard touchdown reception, pulling Guyer within one score at 21-14. However, the Aledo defense refused to break.
